My little girl loves Dora the Explorer.
Her birthday was coming up.
i wanted to make her a Dora-themed cake.
so i decided on doing her favorite map.
She told me she wanted pink candles and blue icing.
thankfully she loved the Dora's Pirate Adventures,
the map scene is water.
therefore,
Blue icing.
I made Map for her.
out of Fimo.
then I made the singing bridge and the treasure chest.
also out of Fimo.
I made a couple of cakes ahead of time.
One i used my star cookie cutter and made little star cakes.
these were for her friends at Sunday School.
the other cake was for the party.
i don't know how long i spent icing the cake, and making it look as i wanted it to.
the boy got to help me by placing Map,
the treasure chest,
and the singing bridge with the chocloate stones.
then i finished off with the writing.
i'd have to say i was quite pleased with how it turned out.
the girl loved it too.
Add a Backpack pinata and the theme was complete.
That's awesome! Well done on the cake! Did she want to eat the Map/bridge/treasure chest?
ReplyDeleteAnd a pinata. Seriously. Who doesn't love a pinata? :D
thanks! no, she knew they were to keep. the best thing was the pinata string broke so it fell to the ground - and i hadn't sealed the top well, so al lthe candy fell out and she now has backpack to play with :)
